FOURTH AVENUE
Evident in its detailing, this Inner Sunset house was originally built to a high level of interior finish with coffered ceilings & panel mouldings in the dining room, a separate small and cozy wood burning fireplace sitting area, stained & leaded glass windows & intricate crown moldings. Instead of completely eliminating these traditional elements, we celebrated them by restoring much of what was redeemable and rebuilding what was not in a similar aesthetic. Structurally, the ground floor was excavated at the rear and a new 10 ft retaining wall was added to the rear to provide the space to convert the lower level into an extra bedroom, bathroom, living space, mudroom & office. Unique to this house was the presence of 4 adequately sized bedrooms all on the 3rd floor, while still maintaining the original dramatic staircase atrium. New custom cabinetry, high end appliances, brass fixtures and hardware, and distinctive wallpaper accents are some of the highlights that define this restored beauty.
